Boys and girls of every age, wouldn't you like to DIY something strange?
1. Painted Pumpkins
Honestly how have I not already thought of this? Bad at carving pumpkins? Hate dealing with pumpkin goop? No. Problem. Just paint them instead! Here we have a picture from www.shopamericanthreads.com showing us the rights steps on how to do this. Head over on Pinterest or keep scrolling for some DIY inspo.

2. DIY Apothecary Bottles

Maybe it's just me, but I'm a sucker for themed Halloween decor. And what's a better theme than a classic witch theme? Arsenic, cyanide, witch's brew, frog's breath, you name it. Find some nice vintage bottles at your local thrift store and check out the site listed or head over to www.etsy.com to find some great potion bottle stickers. I've seen some people fill theirs with water and liquid food dye, glitter-y slime, or added foliage. Scroll to get some witch inspo.

3. DIY Halloween Wreath

Sometimes you have a specific vision for a wreath and no matter how hard you search for it, nobody is selling it. If this is you, then this is your sign to get your DIY kit out and do it yourself. Of course there are two ways to approach this: get a basic wreath at the Dollar Store or Michaels (maybe Wal-Mart) and add on to that, or completely start from scratch. Starting by scratch gives you complete control of your design, so it may be the choice for those really specific visions. For bases you don't need to go the original leaves/branches/twine route, lots of people use hoops you can find at Michaels or any craft store. Here are some pictures for inspiration.

4. Books!

Less of a DIY, but still a fun way to add colour and spookiness to your home! I love using covers of horror novels I have as decor - just find a shelf and prop them up! I also lie them flat underneath small vases I have, especially if they have a spooky name like "The Paranormal Source Book"...yes, I have this book, and it looks great for Halloween!
